Sgt. Tamir Barak z"l

2004 - 2023

19 years old from Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu. A Mechanical Engineering Equipment Fighter in the Corps of Combat Engineers, fell on October 22 during the Iron Swords War.

A few words about Tamir

Born and raised in Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu.
Son of Golan and Almog, brother of Sagi and Yogev.
He joined the IDF in December 2022 to the Combat Engineering Forces. Tamir was killed on October 22nd, 2023, while conducting operations designed to better prepare the ground for IDF's ground forces as they entered Gaza, when a missile hit his D9 directly.

Tamir, as his name implies, was tall and handsome,
Salt of the earth, a kibbutz child in every particle of his being
A child of farming and love for the land
A child of the fields, tractors, sunsets and sunrises
A child who cares about the Kibbutz and the community in which he grew up in and loved so much
A child surrounded by many friends and lives life to its fullest
A football child with a soul of Hapoel Tel Aviv
A child who sets himself challenges, dreams big, and achieves everything
A child who aims for combat engineering in 11th grade, and a moment later he is there, operating D9s, excavators and bouldozers
A child who did his military service professionally, and was happy to fulfill his dream
And now he will remain an eternal and beloved child in our hearts forever…

About the Association

Driven by Tamir's deep love for sports and his kibbutz, and inspired by his remarkable strength, we established the "Remembering Tamir Association." Our mission is to foster positive change and improvement through initiatives centered around sports and animals.

Last year, we successfully renovated and upgraded the sports courts at Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu, enhancing the well-being of its residents. We celebrated the inauguration of the new sports center with a moving event on the first anniversary of Tamir's passing, attended by all our generous donors, family, and friends who have become an integral part of our community. We plan to continue this annual tradition, honoring Tamir's memory through activities he cherished.

We are now actively planning the creation of a therapeutic farm. This unique space will offer emotional support and empowerment to individuals impacted by war, bereavement, and trauma. The center's programs and activities will be guided by dedicated professionals and volunteers.

Every donation brings us closer to establishing this vital therapeutic farm. Your contribution will enable us to help victims of war and bereavement heal and grow from their experiences, thus immortalizing Tamir's spirit in a way that truly reflects his love for people, his kibbutz, and sports – Tamir's way!
